![]() I would recommend that anyone goes, because who doesn't want to see that giant boot and say they were at the flagship store. You could not wish for a better location in Freeport. I have to agree with them by saying overall, this place is nothing special. I had received mixed reviews of Linda Beans from my clients whom I lodge in Freeport. Freeport ended up being a bit of a capitalist scene, with far too many people to make it fun or enjoyable. She said I could make a better sandwich at home. We stayed here only about an hour before getting back on the highway, which we were pleased to note was billboard free. ![]() We stopped in the Bass store, and noticed that the prices in there were actually about 10% more expensive overall than our own Bass outlet store in Indiana (which we had visited only a week before and purchased clothes for cheaper than were on the racks in Maine). All the typical outlet stores are across the street from the Bean complex - things like HIlllfiger and North Face. I will still buy Bean, but I will continue to be a catalog shopper! Freeport is one large LL Bean/Outlet Mall town - there is not much of what makes Maine charming, in my opinion (fewer independent stores, fewer owner-run restaurants, etc).
